Title: Disputatio Medica Inaugralis, de Merocele, vel Hernia Crurali
Other Titles: An inaugural medical dissertation concerning merocele or femoral hernia.
Authors: Barry, James
Issue Date: Jun-1812
Publisher: University of Edinburgh
Abstract: Few diseases are more important than Hernia, whether we consider the frequency of its occurrence, or the distressing and often fatal symptoms which accompany it: and there is none which calls for more anatomical science, more care and more experience and judgment in applying the skills necessary to remove or alleviate it. It is my intention to discuss only Femoral Hernia. This type of hernia was not commented on by surgeons and anatomists of former days.
