Music at the University of Edinburgh has a high proportion of research-active staff of international standing, and research in Music covers a wide range of areas, including practice as research and interdisciplinary collaborations with Physics, Psychology, Informatics, Medicine, Neurophysiology, Sociology, Architecture, and History of Art. The School of Arts, Culture and Environment offers a rich research environment, with regular conferences, seminar series and excellent research facilities including the Reid Music Library, electroacoustic music studios and a world-class Collection of Historical Musical Instruments.
